REVAMPING / MODERNISATIONS / RETROFIT

Due to the long-lasting experiences in engineering strip processing lines DUMA GmbH offers an extensive know-how for modernisations and modifications in the steel and aluminium industry.

DUMA  executes complete modifications starting with engineering up to entire processing, delivery, mounting and commissioning of the equipment..

1. Advancement of the air knife system

The sophisticated DUMA air knife system was enhanced for the higher temperatures in aluminizing plants.
Thus exceptionally high-quality surfaces can be achieved.
The new system has successfully gone into operation at ThyssenKrupp Steel in 2008.

2. Revamping of a pickling line

15 entry and 15 exit looper gates were redesigned and installed by DUMA thus replacing the old pneumatically activated gates. Also a tension leveller gearbox, 2 steering units and an electrostatic oiling machine were successfully integrated into the plant. The plant was put into operation according to schedule at US Steel Serbia in Aug. 2008.

3. Rebuilding a strip-cleaning plant

Salzgitter Flachstahl GmbH wanted to improve the strip-cleaning process within their hot dip galvanizing line #2 by integrating Japanese made spray electrolytic and brush roll units. DUMA carried out the works which include new steel and pipe works, a pre-cleaning tank, a cleaning tank, a vent system, pumps etc. The plant was commissioned in due time in mid of Nov. 2008.
