On 1st April 1975 Ronald Jabs and Heinrich Pannenbecker establish an engineering office for issuing design sheets and engineering drawings for special machinery and modernisations of machinery according to customer requests.
In September 1978 the engineering office expands to DUMA Maschinen- und Anlagenbau GmbH. Then, business objectives include complete manufacturing, supply and mounting of special machinery and modifications of existing plants.
Ab initio companies of the steel and aluminium industry, materials handling and mechanical engineering companies rank among DUMA’s customers.
In 1982 DUMA delivers the first electrostatic oiling machine to Thyssen. To date, more than 260 of these machines have been sold worldwide.
Due to long-lasting, good experiences with DUMA engineering for existing galvanizing plants, at Thyssen the first DUMA air knife is installed in 1988. Since then, more than 30 air knives with roll system have left the workshop in Duisburg.
DUMA equipment is used on all galvanizing products worldwide. Especially, it is applied for the production of high-quality steel sheets as required in automotive engineering.
In 2006 DUMA GmbH enters into a partnership with SMS-Demag AG. Heinrich Pannenbecker retires from business for reasons of age. Ronald Jabs and Peter de Kock are heading the company as managing directors.
For reasons of age Ronald Jabs retires from the managing board on 31st December, 2011, but continues to work for the company as consultant. Peter de Kock performs new tasks in the processing lines division of SMS Siemag AG. Oliver Abel is appointed managing director from January 1, 2012 onwards.
